Thank you so much for not blurring out the bank! I am going to go to that exact spot, fish one of those soft plastic things and catch that same fish over again.

You are right!

The same thing happened earlier this Spring to Kurth Lake here in Lufkin.

Now you can go out and almost walk from boat to boat. frown

Re: Marine Creek Giant - 08/03/18 02:19 PM

Yes it will most likely be busy for a few weeks, but folks will once again get tired of the traffic on the lake, the traffic on the road and most all the family reunions on the boat dock and pier. Been happening for along time. They come and they go!

Re: Marine Creek Giant - 08/03/18 02:19 PM

Kurth secret got out long before this past spring. It's been a shell of its former self now for several years.

Great fish!

Yall are funny... Marine Creek has kicked out LOTS of big ones in the last few years with pics posted all over the place and its still rarely crowded. It fishes pretty tough more often than not, especially when its low like now.

I wonder if that was the same record fish caught in January?

New Lake record?

I literally came here to comment the same thing.

I was out there last Sunday (the day before this giant was caught) and saw no less than 5 boats get up on plane.

It happens, been that way for 20 plus years. Game wardens only show up during events and when someone gets hurt.

Re: Marine Creek Giant - 08/03/18 09:25 PM

Yeah.. I think your also not supposed to have your pit bulls running around without a leash, drink alcohol in the park, swim on boat ramps, set your grill up on the courtesy dock, sleep in your van for 2 days at the ramp and hang your laundry you just did in the lake on the door of the porta pottie, throw your dirty baby diapers on the ground, sit on the bank and shoot up, smoke weed, or keep fish under 18" but all that happens very regular out there. I've gotta be honest... the no wake issue is the least severe of the illegal activities I've witnessed on this lake. roflmao but yes every time I've been there folks are running around on pad, I just idle along and they pass by giving me this weird look like why is that dude idling. From what I've seen they dont enforce any laws on Marine Creek.

Great fish and I agree. That fish is barely over 25" on his measuring board.

If I remember correctly there is a huge floating sign in the middle of the lake. I'm sure there are notices on the ramps too.

If it's a no wake lake, why do they have a ski club, ski jumps and competitions ?
Just curious not being a smarta**.....?
I've also been seeing TPWD out there more often.
