Breaking G Loomis rods.

Breaking G Loomis rods. - 06/11/18 02:56 PM

Last month I had a NRX shatter on a hook set. Saturday I had a GLX break on a cast. I’ve enjoyed the rods but man that hurts. Does anyone local to the Dallas area warranty Loomis rods like Dobyns does or do I have to ship them back to the factory? 2 rods in a that sort of time hurts.

Call them and they will ship one out on the expediter plan, you will have a new rod at your door in a few days. Cost ya $100 per rod but still a pretty good deal.

I feel your pain, I’ve busted my share of Dobyns and it hurts forking out $80.00 every time I break one. I’ve busted like 2-3 over 6 months. I swapped my last dobyns for $80.00 and it sits in my closet until it sells in the classified section.

I don't own any NRX because the GLX warranty is so good. GLX will cost you about $20 (unless it has changed in the past year or so) plus shipping charges to get your rod to them. The $20 fee covers shipping back to you. Send it to them and they'll send you a new replacement. If you do the expediter program it will cost you $100 but zero wait.

GLX will cost $100 if they deem it to be from abuse and not defect. I've had some rods break through no fault of my own and one broke after someone decided they needed to get into a hurry. Loomis has always treated me well.

G loomis will literally send you two rods in a card board tube with a shipping label for 200 bux. You return your rods in the tube the new ones came in. That is insane that you broke one on a hookset and a cast. I have a GLX that is like over 10 years old, those things are tough as hell. My NRX feels insanely strong too.

The only thing I can think of that was out of the ordinary for these rods was two massive catfish, but those were caught about two months ago while bass fishing. Other than that they have been well taken care of.

I’ve used Loomis for 20 years, & the only ones I’ve broken have been my fault. My fishing gear is high mileage lol
