open letter to the thief at umphrys

open letter to the thief at umphrys - 06/06/18 05:52 PM

Last Sunday while fishing the TTT at Rayburn, someone stole my spare tire off my trailer at Umphrys launch.
Open letter to them:
If you needed it so badly, why in the world did you break my mount for the spare? If you needed to use it that's one thing, but to damage the trailer beyond repair so I have to go have a separate mount set up for my spare is just too much.
I cant abide a thief, I worked hard for all I have and expect others to do the same.
So enjoy my tire if you can get the locks off the studs, may it bring you bad luck as you use it, or try to sell it.
Just beware that these things happen, and I will probably be putting my spare in the bed of my pickup under lock and key from now on.

Man, that's hard to believe it happened there with that much traffic around. I guess thieves aren't as scared as we want to think.

Dang Woody that sucks!

I would write a similar letter for when they broke into my truck at Rayburn last December, but I can't blame them for needing a Carhartt jacket and a Yeti hopper full of Shiner Beer!

Sorry for your luck, I expect one day for someone to post on here about catching someone breaking into someone else's vehicle at a ramp.

Thieves are the lowest of the low.

Yes, but you would be surprised how many thefts at tournaments are from competitors or spectators. This doesn't sound like one of those situations, but thieves come in all shapes and sizes hahaha.

Bummer, if they wanted it, I would have given it to them over the massive damage they caused.

This is after the fact advice but I recommend getting 2 dash cams, one for the front and one for the back. I have one for the front and planning on getting another for the back. You'd be surprised what goes on around your truck and trailer while you're not around. No driving idiots backing their trailer into your truck or trailer. Thieves breaking into trucks and stealing tires. I've even heard of trailers being stolen at Fork. Crazy world we live in. Hope the thieves that stole your tire get spinal meningitis so their ahole draws up around their nose, get the drizzling $hits and live to be a 1000 years old.

I've been saying that for years. Everyone quickly blames the meth heads but some of these incidents are from fisherman. It's sad. Screw em all. flame

I was in the second disabled spot next to the walkway just on the right of the ramp.

You reap what you sow. What goes around comes around and for the life of me I'll never understand how people who choose to do wrong by others don't stop and think about how the miserable life they lead is a direct result of the actions they take. Baffles me, angers me but all you can do is pray for them. It's not easy.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest there croch and what they cost you be returned tenfold

One day they'll get caught and someone will whip

Prime example of why my spare isn’t locked. If they want it there gonna get it. Mine has a jig holding it on so it take work to get off but better then tearing up my whole mount.
