Any Clue What This Is? (Holes In Deck)

Any Clue What This Is? (Holes In Deck) - 06/01/18 03:15 AM

These are in a BassCat P4 I'm looking at. I have no idea what they could be used for but it looks like the holes are threaded and fairly sturdy.

Any thoughts? I've searched but Google'ing, "Holes in bass boat deck" doesn't yield good results, lol.

Looks like there are 2 offset pedestal mounts for two folks to sit on the bow, my old champ had that...

I'd assume they're for rod holders. The other two are for seats. Probably a crappie fisherman. Just a guess

Ahh, I can see that. So three pedestal seat mounts and 8 mounts for rod holders possibly. That makes a lot more sense than anything I could come up with.

Google spider rigging seats and click on images. You’ll see that same setup in use

Bingo! Learn something new everyday, thanks!

Sooo, next question, would this deter anyone from buying, encourage, or not doesn't really matter? (assuming all other important items checkout okay)

Buy the boat if it’s in good shape otherwise. That boat has got 10 holes in the deck it wouldn’t otherwise have, not a deal breaker from my perspective.

I’d ask for the rod holders that go in those holes to come with the purchase. They aren’t cheap.

I personally wouldn't buy it unless it was the deal of the century. But a crappie guy would see it as a bonus

That was my first thought! I could see those things searing the bottom of my feet or my hands when I'm opening up another compartment.

I don’t think it would be a deal breaker.

Dang, good call! I was wondering if anyone would notice it but didn't think anyone would! I offered $35K. On BBC it's priced at $36,900 and apparently been FS since 12/12/17. However, they said the guys that posted it on BBC didn't have permission to price it at that price. They said sticker was $41k. Oh well...I'll keep the search going.
