Holbrook or Hawkins this Saturday?

Holbrook or Hawkins this Saturday? - 04/13/18 01:13 AM

I've never fished Holbrook or Hawkins but my dad is in town and we want to get out on the water. It looks like we will be dealing with a 20mph NW wind on Saturday. Which lake should be go to?

Is Holbrook safe to run, especially on the lower end? What about running the lower end of Hawkins, any issues I should be aware of?

Should be able to catch fish at both. No need to run fast they are both relatively small.
Hawkins is usually a little bit clearer and has Chain pickerel.
If they are not biting at one you can be on the other in 30 minutes.
Good luck!

Both are pretty good but for me Holbrook is a little better. South end of either is pretty open. Be aware that on the upper end of Hawkins there are a lot of stumps with rebar sticking out of them. Tear yo glass up.

Thanks guys! This is one of the reasons I love this website. I appreciate the advice that would be hard to get anywhere else as quickly as I'm able to get it on here.

I think we might try to hit up both actually. I might start on Hawkins and work back towards Holbrook and then on home after that. If you see a red and black Skeeter FX21, come say hello.
