Questions on Air Temp and Water Temps - 04/02/18 08:26 PM
Having moved to the Texas Panhandle, I am experiencing greater daily air temperature swings for the lakes that are nearby. For example on Tuesday, the forecast is for a low of 27F and a high of 65F. The rest of the week calls for lows in the low 40s with various high temps. My question is, how do you guys factor in air temps to your fishing? Are you looking for an average low temp to guide your prospecting? Are you focusing on the daily high temp? Setting aside fronts and barometric pressure considerations, do you anticipate off colored water to warm up to the air temp. or close thereto? If so, do you believe the fish will adjust their behavior, at least temporarily, in spite of the looming drop in temps for the coming evening?
In case you're wondering, I fish from a kayak on smaller lakes (less than 100 acres) and don't have a fish finder.
