Seaguar Tatsu - 03/07/18 06:46 PM

Anyone tried this line? Is it worth the price?

All I use for fluoro, Josh. Yes, it's worth the money. Much smoother and more uniform than InvizX. Casts better and lasts longer.

It's worth every penny, I get it off ebay and you can save yourself 60-70 bucks. Check out the diameter difference on the 20lb.

The only other line in its class is Gamma Edge.

That is a really good line. I like sunline as well...

Re: Seaguar Tatsu - 03/07/18 08:19 PM

I'm my opinion, it's not really worth it. I've tried it...several times. I've found that paying a premium for an all inclusive line is not "good money". I'd rather save money and use AbrasX on flipping and stuff and InvisX on c rig and T rig. Red label on moving baits.

Much cheaper.

The stuff is good...just not $40+ for 175 yards or so good.

I use nothing but Tatsu and Gamma Edge because I havent figured out how to string my $100 bills together in a thin enough diameter to fish with them.

I don't use Seaguar but in a lateral comparison Sunline Sniper performs every bit as well as their Shooter for me so it's not worth the added expense. Like you said it's not that they are not good just not $40 per small spool good.

JPurdue, you will find this topic as hotly debated as any bunker fodder.

Just be careful some of the line isn't level wind anymore and I have found it to make the line sing and pretty coarse quick.

Hated sunline sniper but love sunline shooter. Tatsu is next on my list to try and hope it's as good as shooter..

It’s good line but too stiff for me. Prefer Invisx.

Mike Long just caught a 16+ on 15lb Tatsu in Cali. I've read that's all he uses.

Re: Seaguar Tatsu - 03/09/18 08:58 AM

It has less memory and casts a little better than Invisx in my opinion (both require Reel Snot or some other line conditioner to make them perform and not drive you crazy), but in the 15lb have had a couple of breakoffs on hooksets, so starting to lose some confidence in it. Seem to have to check for nicks more than with Invisx to me.
