Wacky Senko Hook Size Around Cover - 02/20/18 11:58 PM

Ok TFFers,

Next question in my quest to implement spinning tackle into my arsenal is this:

What size hooks for Wacky Senko applications around heavy cover such as cypress trees, hydrilla, pads, and giant salvinia?

A 1/0 Gamagatsu finesse whacky hook with titanium weed guards. I think they are called "G-Finesse".

What Steez said. I throw mine on a baitcaster.

Steez has good taste in terminal tackle. Those are great.

Another really high quality weighted wacky head is the Zappu Inchi Wacky Head with or without weedguards. Pick a weight based on how deep you are fishing, how fast you want it to drop.

any problems with the weedguard breaking off? I recently bought some generics and the weedguard breaks after a couple of fish. I now have weighted non-weedless wacky rigs.

I've been considering the ones with the fiber weedguards, so I'm curious how these are holding up.

Experienced this for the first time in 2 years of using the inchi this weekend. It wrapped around the line, and ripped off when I was pulling through a submerged treetop that I wasn’t expecting to be there. Usually they last just fine.

I suck at posting pics but I am a big fan of these in 1/16. They come through grass surprisingly well.

I like a 2/0 or 3/0 best in any of the above mentioned types. Depends on cover type and condition.
