Depends on water clarity for me. I have 3-4 colors I use based on water but basically like mentioned above. Shad color or version of green

Are chatterbaits primarily a spring/summer technique? Haven’t had a lot of luck on them.

Chartreuse / white is the only color I ever throw. Most of the time I use a Live Magic Shad in Barfish, but have also been using Yamamoto Zako in Chartreuse Shad or a watermelon Lemon.

I have read they are really good in the fall. I want to use them more and gain confidence.

I fish the chatterbait a lot, I like all colors as long as their Okeechobee Craw with a Pumpkin seed LFT slug trailer..

I can count all the fish I've caught on a chatter bait on one arm so I only have two colors, chartreuse and white and white and chartreuse. Same thing with spinner baits. I've discovered that on Fork the bass can not only tell you the brand of spinner bait you're throwing but where you bought it and how much you paid for it. I catch more bass on a swim bait and fluke and I've got a bunch of those.

Really the only 2 colors you need right here....and don't waste your time throwing a black/blue chatterbait...they don't work wink

Frank, give them a go when the water is cold, but starting to warm some (beginning, to mid-stages of a warming trend)
