Glacier Gloves are good....but, I found a cheap (really cheap) alternative. H2O neoprene fishing gloves. I used them last weekend and they work really well....and they are $6.

Simms G4!

Re: Fishing gloves - 01/12/18 12:40 AM

Find a local Army surplus store, we have one here in OKC. Get the wool liners for the Army issue gloves. Many times you can get them with the finger tips already exposed, otherwise cut the tips to suit your preference. You can wear them all day, put your hands in the water or live well, the wool insulates the same wet or dry. NO synthetic glove will do this. $4.00 ---$6.00 a pair. Try um, you'll use them forever.

Those Simms G4 look really good but at $70+ price I picked up a pair of these $7 Academy H20 gloves today to try out and I think they'll work great. In past I usually rotated pairs of cotton gloves until they all got wet.
Thanks for the suggestion on the H20's. (same as Texas Slam in the link)

Thx Tc24. Notice only one size. How would these for for a medium hand?

Re: Fishing gloves - 01/13/18 04:37 PM

Honestly you get what you pay for just like most things. Buy $6 gloves you get exactly that.

Just like the guys with the cheap frog togs or h2o rain suits who say, "I never get wet", ya buddy thumb
