Fishing and Tackle Shows?

Fishing and Tackle Shows? - 12/31/17 06:27 AM

There used to be a Fishing and Tackle Show every year in the DFW area . I remember going to one at Big Town another at the Convention Center in Arlington, even in Mesquite near the rodeo. They were always one of the first weekends in January. Does anybody know if they still have these anywhere? Always enjoyed walking around and looking for new trends and stocking up on Tackle.

Fun n Sun puts on a really good one at their Hurst store. I think it’s coming up in a few weeks.

The Fun N Sun show is January 12-14. It grows and gets better every year. Should be an awesome show this year.

Ok, may be a dumb question. Never been to one before.

Are they just displaying boats and tackle?
Or are there vendors selling stuff?
And are there any decent bargains ?

The Fun N Sun show will have lots of dealer booths. I can't speak for the other booths, but we will have some good show discounts in ours.

Last time I went, I had A-Mart autograph my Bassmaster mag with his AOY title on the cover...and got some Megabass rods for 20% off. Well worth the trip.

I use to attend Boat & Tackle shows not so anymore it's not worth it, I can get the same products on line maybe save a few $$ in the process and do it while I'm on the boat in pursuit of the dude.

With all the people living at and fishing lake fork, it seem like a good place to have a place set up to do a tackle show with people selling there unwanted items also. Could pick a day and do it at a marina or one of the free public boat ramps. No fee to set up just anyone who wants to sell stuff just show up and sell out off the back of your truck. Dealers could set up booths if they were so inclined.

That has been done before in the past but never really had much turn out.
