Wounded/sick deer will almost always go to water if they can make it. Not uncommon at all

Didn't look sick or wounded but something definitely is wrong. Wonder if he was swimming and either got hit by a boat or simply drowned. Should have been removed from the water though. Shame.

Could have been wounded by a bad shot from a deer hunter, if they can get to water when they are shot they will go. I have seen 2 bucks go lay in the edge of the river after being shot. I saw a buck way bigger than that dead in the edge of the water last year in Housen on Toledo.

It was probably a wound on it somewhere. I'm almost sure not EHD its too late in season. It would have been a nice buck next year.
