Is there a deep bite year round?

Yes. You could go as far as to say that the biggest fish in lakes live in deep water year round except when they come up to spawn. Of course, not every lake is the same, and not every fish spawns every year.

It is tougher at some points than others, but I have found a deep bite year round

Depends on the lake, and your definition of deep, but on many - yes. On Alan Henry and Amistad, the 2 lakes I fish the most I can catch them at 25+ foot year round, and hardly ever fish shallower. Although at Amistad I don't consider 25 ft deep. Its not unusual to catch good ones at 60.
