Hey Kat, when you mention folding in the heavy cream, do you mean with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon or does it matter?

Doesn't matter. Just don't beat it to death.

Y'all, I can't stress to you just HOW GOOD this pie is. Now I just need to make some hot fudge to drizzle over the top.
Peanut butter pie is my all time favorite. If you don't want to beat the heavy cream cool whip turns out good too!

Re: Peanut butter pie. - 06/02/14 09:05 PM
Yep. I'm a dork and don't think of it, but yes, cool whip would work just fine. Just an 8 oz tub.

Do you make whipped cream out of the cream?
Posted By: Kattelyn
Re: Peanut butter pie. - 04/18/16 03:10 AM
Yes. you can also swap it out for an 8 oz tub of cool whip.

I wouldn't put it in the freezer. I've done it for as little as an hour in the fridge. You just want it to set up a bit. The longer it sets, the firmer it gets.
I have done this up without a pie crust, just in four small bowls with toasted pecan and graham cracker crumbles on top. We can hurt ourselves with this pie. And what's worse is that it is so easy to make with stuff I always keep on hand anyway.

I am soundly anti Cool Whip. That stuff is one molecule away from becoming plastic. Real whip cream for us.

Told my wife about the pie a week ago from last Sunday, the grand kids were there and wanted her to make it right then. I told them I would make it this week. Wife beat me to it, she made two this morning, making me wait. Will report back tonight.

My wife has made this for me a couple of times! Its awesome and easy to make! We also make a Hershey bar pie. Take Hershey bars with almonds and melt..Save one Hershey bar... add 1/2 a tub of cool whip and whip into a graham cracker pie crust! Put the rest of the cool whip on top and grate the extra bar on top! Very easy!

Re: Peanut butter pie. - 09/27/16 10:23 PM
Oh, I just made this with pumpkin butter last night and it worked marvelously. Add in a teaspoon and a bit of pumpkin pie spice. And I suspect that if pumpkin butter worked, then apple butter would too.

Think the texture of peanut butter, but flavored like a really good snickerdoodle. Yes, you can make a sandwich with it. It's at Kroger and HEB next to the peanut butter. I like to dip apple slices in it.

Uh huh, and this is how to make a whole pie for less than they charge you for a single slice... and you don't have to drive to Hico to get it.

I'll retype it...
1 block cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar.
1 cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons vanilla
And either a tub of cool whip or 8 ounces of whipped cream.
Does that make more sense?
Awesome!

Re: Peanut butter pie. - 01/23/20 09:28 PM
The best thing about this pie is....
1. Absolutely delicious
2. Healthy
3. Low calorie
4. Goes well with all diets
5. So easy to make
6. Did I mention this pie is very health, diet, and calorie conscious.
Negatives
1. Tends to bring out selfishness
2. Tends to bring out sneakiness, ie... hiding pie from others.
3. May lead to violence when down to last piece.
