Blackened fish

Blackened fish - 11/16/13 10:51 PM

I know that this is likely a re-post. I am looking for a good blackening powder or recipe. It can be commercial or home-made. I m not a fan of the spicy hot blackening.

Any help would be appreciated.

This has worked well for me.

2 tablespoons sweet paprika
1 tablespoons sea salt* or to taste
2 tablespoons onion granules
2 tablespoons garlic granules
2 teaspoons ground cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon ground pepper
2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed

Sprayed the fish and skillet with pam butter flavor cooking spray and cooked for 2 minutes per side.

Thanks RNF. I may have to adjust some to reduce the Spicy heat, I definitely plan to cook outside for this dish.

I am partial to the Louisiana Brand blackened seasoning.

easy to use . not too spicy , just right.

I use olive oil on the fish first , much easier than the
clarified butter route.

good luck
