If you are not feeding an Army, what do you do with all the extra meat? Does it freeze ok if you use the Food Savor? Any suggestions? I have done several butts but it was always for a fairly large group and never much left over.

you can freeze it without the food saver, but just not as long. I like to keep it around and use it for various things. sandwiches, chinese etc.

shred it, divided into fourths and froze it. Thaw it out, add BBQ and buns,...great.

we try to take advantage of sales too. i cut the big meats up as soon as i get home and vac seal the smaller pieces. if it has a bone, a saws all with a new metal blade cuts thru em pretty good. that piece of meat sure looks good!

My leftover pulled pork doesn't last long, between sammiches and nachos. Pulled pork nachos are greatness!

It freezes fine. I fix a butt for family gatherings or church dinners. There are just two of us here at home so I divide the leftovers into 1/2 lb. freezer bags, date the bag with a sharpie marker and use them for fantastic pulled pork nachos, tacos, lettuce wraps, sandwiches, etc. Just use your imagination.

It's good to add it to a pot of beans too, the flavor is very concentrated and comes out in the stock.
