.97 is a great deal on butts. I’d round up some family or friends and go shopping. For those folks new to smoking, pork butt is about as easy as it gets and is a great confidence booster. Hard to mess one up and they taste pretty dang good as well.

For pulled pork, cook/smoke over pecan (apple, plum, ??) @ 225-250 degrees to internal 190-200 temperature. Takes ~1 1/2 - 2 hour per pound. i cooked 2 (~9 lb each) last week when $0.97/lb at Randalls in Houston area. YUMMY!!! It took ~5 lbs charcoal + 9 large pieces pecan wood.
