So, if I upgrade to a 24 volt trolling motor, can I still get by on two batteries? Would it be wrong to try and crank the big motor from one of the batteries I would be using for the trolling motor?

I wouldn't run trolling motor off cranking battery .

You want the cranking separate, especially if you are going to run fish finders as they will get interference from the trolling motor through the battery.

Figure out how to add a second battery and where. Your start battery should only run the sonars, nothing else.

I was hoping everyone would say it's ok. Knew it wouldn't be, but dang.
