Gel Coat cooked

Gel Coat cooked - 07/05/17 12:56 PM

Guys I have a 2001 ZX200. I haven't taken as good care of it as I should have over the years and the Gel coat is basically gone. I am thinking of spraying it with an Automotive clear coat paint. Your thoughts?

Nope, don't do it.
Auto clear, regardless of which one might possibly last a year before it flakes.

your gel isn't gone, its just under a layer of oxidation, you can probably take it to a professional and they can compound and buff it and make it look less bad

Once gelcoat begins to oxidize, it's starting to "die". it can be buffed but it will continue to oxidize.
