98 Yamaha Vmax 150 ignition - 01/11/23 12:25 AM

Hey guy's, looking for some advice, last trip I noticed when turning off the key ,motor tries to stay running. I believe if it was a carb model it would keep running. From what I can find online it tells me I have a white ground wire that might be the culprit. The only difference is all I have read say kill switch should not work either if that groundwire is broken. My kill switch will kill it instantly. I have checked all visible connections and the main harnes s connector under the cowling all look good.Could it be a bad key switch?

The ignition is a box separate from the key. The key is a switch with wires going into the ignition module.

Next time just for a look/see, pull the kill cord and see if it dies...

So that kill circuit takes your ignition to ground, not working, I would look for the simplethings first like all the different plugs in your wiring harness and power module, let's make sure all the pins and sockets in these plugs are all the same , for as how far into the plug.

What your doing is looking for maybe a pin or socket that was pushed back out of the plug a little. Nice to use dielectric Grease on these when going back together also...

The plugs to the key switch back to the engine.
