Set up after a rebuild

Seeing the other post about set up has me thinking about mine again.

2005 TZX200 200HP 3.3L HPDI 25P T-1 prop

Motor self-destructed a couple of years ago. Got it back after a disaster of a rebuild (blew up 3 more times). New powerhead bolted on and runs great. Probably have put 100 hours back on the new powerhead, but it just doesn't run like it used too.

I haven't changed anything since the rebuild. Same Height, same prop, weight loads about the same, but it just doesn't have the top end it used too.

Turning 5800-5900 RPM's im only getting 63-64 MPH. Used to be turning the same RPM's but I would be 68 all day long, and touching 70 on a perfect condition day.

I've just kinda excepted thats what this motor has now, but wanted to toss it out there to see if there is anything anyone would recommend. Don't have my motor height handy right now. but can get it tonight. I had it raised up right to the point I would start losing PSI with anymore

Prop is in the same condition, although I know it could be cleaned up a little.

Also seems that its a lot more finicky with the trim while running. Seems to pourpos than it used too, or at least I notice it more now for some reason. Jackplate does have the wedges to help for that

Dont know. Just brainstorming at this point because I tweaked with it for a long time to get it where it was, and wouldn't think it would be any different after a new powerhead.

If you're getting the same rpm's and using the same prop its not the motor. More like motor height was raised or load in boat was changed, as in more stuff in the bow and loosing lift.

first thing would be to send the prop to josh and let him clean it up and work it for ya.

might try moving the jackplate up and down and see if that changes anything.
