What is a decent set up? Have looked on line and found some pretty cheap to holy moly! Any suggestions and brand?

I have been running this one for several years. I replace the filter when I replace the lower unit oil. Plus filters are easy to find. Academy sells them.
Moeller Marine Water Separating Fuel Filter System.

I have the TH Marine filter. I fish saltwater weekly and was changing my filter every three months at first. I have seen water only once after draining the filter in 5 years. I run a Tohastu tldi and ran regular gas with ethanol the 1st year and that is the time I found water in the fuel filter. Since then I run non ethanol only because I was replacing primer bulbs so much. Which I haven't had to do since non ethanol either. Now I replace my filter once every six months and havn't seen water.

The whole setup will run about $60...filter and mount. get one of the filters that have the clear bottom and drain fitting.

You might want to look into Racor products.
