Do I need a jack plate?

Do I need a jack plate? - 05/27/21 04:59 AM

I have a 24’ Fishmaster center console with 102” beam. It used to have a 150 Suzuki 2-stroke and I recently put a 200 hp Mercury 4- stroke and the problem is, at low speed, the water level goes 1/2 way up the motor cowling. I suppose this engine is much heavier than the old one. Will install an engine hydrofoil help or is there other options. I didn’t like the jack plate I had on before so I removed it and gave it away and wish that I kept it. Thanks

A 6" Bobs hydraulic would be a nice convenience for sure. Especially if you're going to take your sled to the bay.

I've sold hundreds of plates, every brand, the Bobs stands above any others for service.
