What weight do you guys in the Houston/Austin area? Good old fashion 10w30 made for high performance outboards good enough?

Just says... Yamalube® 4M FC-W®

Doesn't give a weight because I would think different parts of the country would need different weight oil.

The 4M FC-W just means 4 stroke fresh water cooled. Your owners manual will specify which weight to use depending on operating conditions. 10w30 is just fine for year round conditions.

Mercury 4 stroke is 10W-30

in the big V8's and R engines... the synthetic blend is preferred.
