Suzuki outboards

We pulled the boat down to arroyo city for a few days on the flats. I never seen so many Suzukis in one place! I’m considering re powering soon. All those Suzuki’s got me thinking cause arroyo is so isolated- there isn’t anyone to call to pull you in! Lol. What does TFF think of them? Anyone here have much experience with them? Warranty service?

They are certainly the force to be dealt with on the coast. Parts availability on four strokes is good, they do a good job on keeping them running. Heaven help you if you need something for a old two stroke, you're in a bind.

I have a Suzuki 225 and it has been a good motor. Hard to find service for it. If i re-power I would go with a Merc

Yeah should have detailed if you have a good service center go for it. If you aren’t on the coast good luck.

Yeah Pat- our old 2 stroke does a great job but it ain’t going to last forever! Unfortunately I’m not on the coast- I’m going to research it further.

Personally I like dfi 2 strokes, they’re easier to maintain and work on, and just as fuel efficient as a 4 stroke.

I guess I'm in the minority with you here. I don't know what the fascination is with 4 strokes. Every one I've ever ridden in I thought was down on power compared to a 2 stroke especially in the <100 hp motors. I admit I haven't ridden in a new Merc V8 Pro XS, but I have ridden in many a Yamaha and Suzuki 4 stroke.

I think the best motor ever made was that 90 HP Yamaha 2 stroke engine.
