2019 re-power upgrade

2019 re-power upgrade - 02/05/20 02:41 PM

Guys I’m looking at a VERY low hour 2019 boat but I’m not in love with the motor. It is a Yamaha F150 and I would prefer the F200 on that hull. Where is the best place to have a re-power done around Fort Worth and do most dealerships take a trade on the old engine?

Not sure the cost to benefits are going to be worth it, but selling privately I'd think would give you the best bag vs a trade-in

One rule when buying a boat is to put the max HP on it. Not sure why people don't follow this. I am looking at the same thing. My boat could really use a 250 but original owner chose to buy with a 200. I asked him why and he said well I could have put a 250 on it but it will run with that Triton with the 250 across the way.If I had not liked the boat so much and they were easy to come by I would have walked away. Fortunately with the Optimax when I decide to upgrade the powerheads are interchangeable.

Well, we are in the process of trying to clear up some stuff in order to buy the boat. We may very well end up buying a brand new one instead of the slightly used one we had been looking at. If that happens then the biggest engine allowed will be on it when I order or get it from the dealer.

Contact Smith Boat Sales in Scotland, Tx. or Wild Bill's Boats in Mead, Ok. They both deal with Yamaha.
