SO I HAVE LOW COMPRESSION IN CYLINDER #5 @70PSI, #6 @ 55PSI. ALL OTHERS OVER 115. THE MOTOR HAS 738 HOURS BASED ON MY VESSEL VIEW. BASED ON MY HOURS, SHOULD I GET A REBUILT MOTOR AND PUT THE OLD STUFF BACK ON OR GET A FULLY DRESSED MOTOR. ALSO I WAS THINKING SHOULD I JUST BUY A MOTOR WITH LOW HOURS AND DON'T DEAL WITH IT?. MY BUDGET LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IS GETTING THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK. CURIOUS TOO SEE WHAT MY TFF FRIENDS THINK IS THE BEST OPTION. HELP-HELP PLEASE. IF I WAS TOO SELL MY OPTIMAX HOW MUCH ARE THEY WORTH TOO PART OUT?

Personally, I would want to know what failed to cause the low compression before making a decision.

If you can tear it down yourself, you will get far more if you are patient and sell broadly such as on ebay. If you just sell the motor as is, you will get less money, but it is also less work on your part.

If want it rebuilt we send all electric off to CDI to get check and send all injectors off and get cleaned

I do all the above persin does and I also do the water pump and the lower gear oil. very possible ecu my be bad causing the failure and yes the reason the powerhead failed needs to be addressed along with repairing the powerhead. located in hurst

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR COMMENTS, STILL ON THE FENCE ON WHICH WAY TO GO AT THIS TIME, THE MOTOR STILL RUNS, I AM LEANING TOWARDS A NEW POWER HEAD WITH NEW AIR COMPRESSOR, AND OIL PUMP. MOST LIKELY SEND MY FUEL INJECTORS TOO A SHOP THAT MAKE THE MOTOR COME ALIVE AGAIN. I JUST FINISHED WITH A NEW GEAR CASE ABOUT 20 HOURS AGO AND THEN THIS HAPPEN. VERY THANKFUL IT DIDN'T HAPPEN IN THE BUSY SEASON SO I HAVE SOME TIME TOO GET IT RIGHT WITHOUT WAITING SEVERAL MONTHS. CANT THINK OF ANY OTHER MAJOR PARTS THAT ARE NEEDED TOO COMPLETE MY RE-POWER. IF I'M FORGETTING SOMETHING PLEASE CHIME IN. AGAIN THANK YOU ALL THAT HAS PUT INPUT INTO THIS SO FAR. JAMES
