Yamaha SHO Engine Flush

Yamaha SHO Engine Flush - 09/10/18 08:49 PM

I am considering a DIY 100 hour service on my 2017 250 SHO. Reading about the $90 nose cone water flush piece recommended for running the motor prior to and after oil change is complete.
Can't I use the hose hook up on the side of the motor to supply water while running? Could read the manual but thought I'd get some advice from the TTF instead.
Thanks

Do not run the motor using the hose flush port (Per Yamaha). I asked a Yamaha Tech about using the high dollar nose cone and he did not recommend it either. I use a rubber stock tank I purchased at TSC, its a pain but at least I don't have to worry about over heating.
I also noticed when I was taking mine to the dealer they never ran the motor prior to servicing it.
