Prop for 2012 z521 + etec 250 ho - 06/12/18 07:05 PM

Hey y’all, I’m picking up a new boat soon, and test drove her last night. The boat runs great, but I know it’s not propped right. The guy I’m buying it from is running a 26p raker right now, and is slow as a dog out of the hole and tops out at about 67. I know I’m not going to get 76 out of it, but I feel like better hole shot and 70 at WOT is doable. 6” atlas jack plate. Suggestions? I don’t think the engine can spin this prop on this boat how it needs to. Thanks in advance!

Don't quote me on this, but I believe it was like 5600. Only had one day on the boat, should be coming home to me at the end of this week or next week and I will have some time to play with it, but I know it isn't right right now.

A Z521 should have come with a 10 inch jackplate from the factory. I'm thinking a 24 or 25 pitch Raker or a 4 blade prop (Powertech RKR4 or Croxton) would be better. Typically it's good to have 2 props, a lower pitch for summer and a higher for cooler montbs. I have a z520, so mine will be a bit different. I would recommend posting in the Ranger section of Bass Boat Central to get the most input from the folks dialling in their Z521's. Good luck!

Maybe it is a 10” plate, I’m not sure. I’ll check it out when I pick her up. The 4 blade route may not be a bad idea. Does anyone run a Bravo on their etec with this setup? Pretty sure the bravo is a mercury prop but have read a lot about a 25p bravo on an etec and z521. Thanks!
