I started to change mine but decided against it. To it to a mom and pop shop. He told me that the seals needed to be oversized for it to hold. It has been good so far. He did it cheaper than I could buy the parts for, all 3 were rebuilt by Cummins Hyd. He is located in Waco TX

It takes a test bench to tell where you are leaking. Many times it has been proven best to replace the T&T assembly with a known good working one. I have seen several times that the impact relief valves, on the main ram`s piston, begin to leak. #40 has the small relief valves. http://www.boats.net/parts/search/BRP/JOHNSON/1994/J50TLERE/POWER%20TRIM-TILT/parts.html I have a complete T&T for a 1994 50hp Johnson J50TLERE. 395.00

Two questions:
1. Do you know (can you see) where the leak is?
2. Did you do it yourself? If it's leaking around the support rods it may be that you put the dust seals on upside down. Common problem.
