Tube Jig Rod

What kind of rod (length/action) do you guys use for fishing tube jigs?

I was using a rod I normally use for vertical jigging for walleyes up north and I didn't seem to have much leverage for a good hookset.

I'm guessing most use spinning rods/reels for tube jigs but are baitcasters a possibility too?

depends on how you are going to be using the jig.

If I am going to be swimming a jig like a gitzit then i normally use a 7' medium action.

But typically i am fishing a tube T-Rigged with a 3/16 bullet weight, I will be using my 7' medium heavy action with a fast tip.

the rod I've been using is only 6' and it seems as if I don't get enough leverage on the hookset. I've also found that texas rigging a tube takes some practice! lol

Do you peg your slip sinker too?

i usualy peg the slip sinker with tru tungstun pegs.
for my rod choice i use a 7 ft medium action spinning rod for tube jigs and a 7'6 heavy action stick for flippin
