Are any of you guys and girls fishing this rod? Was told by a friend he tried it in the store but didn't fish it.

A top brand name for that price point: around $100.

Most people rank St. Croix rods in the "top 5" of production rod builders.

I have several, 5 or 6 St. Croix rods, not this model. If you get one, let us know how it works out.

The X blanks are the SCII series and are great blanks. The SCIII series are excellent blanks!

If you want the best dock skipping / flipping rod, get the handle #1 .... 9” of butt section starting at the rear of the seat. 7’ MH

I build rods, I have tried to build a rod for skipping docks to match the performance of the St. Croix SCIII 7’ MH and can not, there’s something about the backbone of the blank that I can not find in any other brand. It fits my style of skipping docks. I use a very hard underhand sweep when skipping docks.

Thanks huck went to the website to take a look they are made in Mexico. Goes against everything I believe. May be why they are as cheap as they are.

May have to pass on that one.

They were originally made here in the US, still are, but they opened a new facility in Mexico to keep up with demand. Maybe Trump can help them come home. flag

WHAT? I am disappointed to see this news. I wonder why they can't keep up with demand AND remain at home.
I don't know which rods are the best, but St. Croix are VERY GOOD BLANKS.
