Humminbird 1199 install question - 03/02/15 12:24 AM

I am getting a new HB-1199 si combo and I believe it comes with a XHS9 HDSI 180T transducer and I have a HB899si combo with a XNT9 SI 180T already installed , will that transducer listed above fit in the bracket already mounted on my transom. Also will the x-ducer from the 899 work on my trolling motor a MK Maxxum 70, if so what TM mount would be recommended. one more question please, what would be the best Ram mount for the 1199. I have always used the 899 on the gimbel mount but that want be a option on the 1199 not enough room . thanks in advance

I like the Ram 111U I think it is. Sells for around $78 on Amazon, I ordered a base mount for it from Transducer Shield & Saver website. Actually you can get everything you need from Transducer Shield & Saver plus they have great phone support. I set a base on my boat, then ordered another base and mounted it on a square piece of 2 X 12 and I use that in the house with a 110 to 12volt 3 amp converter. Works great. I will let the others answer about the transducer as I am not qualified to talk about that.

No the XNT bracket is all plastic and the XHS bracket has a metal part that attaches to the hull and the mount is larger/sturdier.

The trolling motor puck version of the Compact SI (XNT 9 SI 180 T) is the XTM 9 SI 180 T. It has extra internal shielding that the transom model does not have. No mount required, comes with stainless steel hose clamps.

You can also use the same transduer that the 1199 comes with to get better sonar performance. It is transom and trolling motor suitable since it has the extra internal shielding.

For the bow, you want at least the RAM D size 2.25" ball and even that may not be enough in rough water. Some use the Balzout mount and some use a bridge mount across the recessed trolling motor foot pedal--Kick'n Bass has one. There is a similar one-don't remember the brand.
