can't decide on which one to go with.

I plan on upgrading this year and have read and read post after post and still can't decide on either the lowrance hds7 with structure scan or the humminbird
899ci HD SI NAV Combo. I'm going to bass pro in the am to talk to the lowrance rep and see if I can play around with both units. Which one would you purchase?

If you mostly fish water less than 10' then get the bird for it's better shallow water side imaging. I like Lowrance and I own 3 of the HDS models but their shallow water SI just isn't great. Play with them and see which one is easier for you to work, sometimes something's just come more natural to you and one might "feel" right to you. Don't listen to the salesmen, most of them are idiots there.

This question has been asked many times and I always respond 'go out on the water with someone that has one' then do the same with the other. You can't compare demos in the store! On water experience is the only way to know for sure.
And call David at shut-up-and-fish. He is very knowledgeable about both brands.
