Humminbird 788ci HD - 08/26/14 12:20 AM

This system came with my Triton 18 and lately it has not been showing a depth of 1.5 feet. I have gently cleaned the transducer but it still does read the depth accurately. Everything else reads out correctly. What should I do next?

If it has not been showing 1.5' depth, what does it show--actual water depth?

If it still does read the depth accurately, what is the issue?

Not really sure what the actual problem by your question but the standard answer is to check to see if it has the latest software, then reset to default,s and then try it set for saltwater.

Okay, I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks.

Okay, I see I typed wrong- the depth finder shows 1.5 feet even when I am in 20 feet of water. I turn it off and then on again and get the true depth but if I move using my trolling motor, it reverts back to 1.5 feet and stays there until I restart it.

Have you checked the unit Voltage readout to see if you have enough power to fully operate the unit?

Yeah, the power is fine. I need to reset the whole unit back to factory settings and start over. Thanks.
