Ramp-N-Clamp or Drotto

Ramp-N-Clamp or Drotto - 02/07/22 02:38 AM

I know there was a thread on this topic but I couldn’t find it. I am wanting to get a drive on latch for my boat trailer and am looking at a Ramp-N-Clamp or a Drotto.

I have a Nautic Star Hybrid and it a pain to hook up with even thought I have stairs. My concern is that they are stout enough to hold a 4,500# boat.

Have any of you used either one of these? Do you have any recommendations other than these?

Drotto. I have one and my buddy has one on his 06 Ranger. Easy launch and load. We pull out and then hook the strap for travel. Best thing ever!

+1 on Drotto. Installed on a 2009 Triton center console without any problems.

I put the ramp n clamp on my champion 202, works like it should but there is a slight learning curve to loading.

I got my ramp n clamp in the mail and will be installing this weekend. Any particulars I need to know about loading the boat with a RNC installed?

I’ll post an update after I get it installed.

you will have to find the sweet spot to load, don't back in as far as you normally do but still be able to power load to latch.

once you figure it out loading is super simple.

I have the lamp and clamp and love it. The front bow eyelet will probably need replacing with the longer on and it comes in the kit.

I have the Ramp and Clamp on my Triton TX21 and it works great, I used the eye extension that came with it. Still have an old Boat Buddy clamp on my old MX185 Nitro but the bolt that shoots thru the eye is almost worn out. I like the Ramp and Clamp because I can release it easily from the deck.

Ramp and Clamp for me, 243 XTS, holds great, and it is stainless construction.

I've always had the Ramp n Clamp. But with the Lund trailer, I need to add to more boat guides. Lining up is the key. I can't see it when loading my boat.

I got the R&C mounted. Sure loads easy! One question, I only have a small amount of the boat bow touching the R&C, is that normal?
