Motorguide Tour Direction Indicator

Motorguide Tour Direction Indicator - 06/21/20 01:46 AM

Anybody ever repair an older MG Tour 767v direction indicator. Motor still works great after all these years, but the direction indicator on top spins where ever it wants. I've taken it apart several times and tried to find the issue. It's all gear driven (No rack & pinion). I called a repair shop one time when it was newer, and the guy said something about the gear connected to the shaft is too short. A defect my MG. He said that it would need to be taken apart, and have a replacement gear installed to correct the issue. I didn't want to go through all that at the time, so I've just been living with it. Kinda hard to use, until you get use to being "one with the force, Luke". I want to do this myself, as I'm on a fixed income and saving $ only helps. I'm pretty handy.

Anybody got a clue, maybe a part number for the replacement? None of the gears in there now look stripped or even work, but the gears obviously "skip" and then the direction of off.

The actual Directional indicator itself has teeth underneath it that should mesh with a plastic gear /cog on a shaft inside the housing. At least it did on mine. I just replaced the whole Top section and it solved my issue. Try going on Youtube i`m sure someone has a video on the same issue thumb
