Transducer

What external transducer can I buy for a Hummingbird 788 ci? Already have Garmin 9" and wanted the 788 for use of a lake map or navionics chip.

XNT 9 20 T if the 788 is the 2D sonar-only model.

You don't have to connect a transducer to it for GPS/Mapping. Just turn Sonar OFF and the unit will be a Chart Plotter.

I am not sure which one it is because it is mounted in the console. All I can see is 788ci but did not want to punch more holes in hull for another transducer. So you are saying the 788ci has an internal GPS I can use for tracks, river contours, etc?

c stands for Color display
i stands for Internal GPS antenna

If the unit is a Down Imaging model, it would state that on the front of the unit.

There is an older version of the 788 which is 788c Combo that requires an external GPS antenna.
