Fish finder won’t turn on

Fish finder won’t turn on - 07/04/18 02:44 PM

I have a Humminbird Helix up front and it will not turn on. It was running and mid-trip it turned off. Never have gotten it back on. Changed all the connections, etc. Used a voltage meter and there is juice out of the power cord connections. I have hooked it up to another small 12 volt battery and it works. So anyone have any ideas why it’s not turning on? Thanks

How is the unit wired on the boat. Is ito a fuse panel, switch? Try running a temporary fused wire no less than 14 ga. Straight to the battery.

Sounds like a ground issue.

Agree. If wired to a fuse box; check the negative/black/ground wire connection to ground.
Sandpaper and clean the ground connection.

It’s wired thru the accessory switch on the console. I had checked everything (connections, ground, etc.) and I was at a loss of how to solve the problem. I decided to change the switch on the console and it was a go. So I guess the switch was bad but I’m good to go now.

Thanks for the suggestions.
