saw a post about a lift handle so i found one for my Xi5 works great....now if i could only figure how to make my transducer work on bottom of Xi5..too much interference .i kick the TM on and locator goes strait line..working on a separate pvc drop pole for the transducer. but i will say so far i love the Xi5! the yellow coil wire was an air line i ran the transducer wire in from TM..took it off transducer wouldn'
t work!

Hargis, get the Cable Guard system from Precision Sonar.com

Cable Guard (Video)
Fits Minnkota Terrova, Ulterra, Ultrex, and Motor Guide xi5 If you want to run an external transducer on one of these trolling motors this is the way to go. The transducer cable is housed in a heavy-duty coiled hose and attached to the top and bottom of the trolling motor shaft by a machined aluminum clamp. This positions the transducer cable away from the housing allowing the trolling motor to turn without binding the transducer cable. Easy to follow installation instructions.

For the air line you only need 3 coils starting at the base of the shaft.

my main problem is the interference ! as soon as i turn on the TM prop my locator goes flatline...shows no structure!

I used to get interference on mine as well. Rerouted the graphs power cables away from the tm power cables and it went away

I tried teh airline coil and that didn't work very well because it wasn't springy enough. I was able to get a hinge spring and tied the cable to it. This actually worked well. The line is close to being tight when deployed, and the spring acts as a tensioner, and would give when the motor spins a few times around. I couldn't deploy it while on the trailer, but took some pictures of it stowed. I hope you can see what I'm talking about. If not, let me know and I'll try to take some.
