Hole shot on a Ranger Z21 w/Evinrude 250 ho - 06/07/18 10:13 PM
I’m looking at an ‘09 z21 w/ Evinrude 250ho. I love the boat but the hole shot leaves a lot to be desired. I was wondering if it’s a prop problem or is it more than that? Im not a boat expert so any help would be appreciated.

Check out the prop to pad. Adjusting that can sometimes make a world of difference in hole shot.
What jack plate does it have?
Does the jack plate have a whole shot plate on it?

It has a slide master jack plate, looks like it’s set at 1 in the pic, 14.5x24 raker ho prop.
You need to see if they lower unit was replaced on the '09 ETEC. I had an '09 Z520 & ETEC 250 HO and the hole shot was terrible. They replaced my lower unit and it was a lot better. It was never great, but better. That is one of the negatives with the 2009 250 ETECs.
