Heading Sensor on Minn Kota Terrova - 05/23/18 11:56 AM

Hello all, I picked up a Minn Kota terrova with the Spot Lock. the heading sensor requires 12 volts and my trolling motor is a 24 volt system. Have considered mounting the heading sensor to the top of my console and feeding it the 12 volts off my cranking battery. The diagram shows it hard wired into a 12 volt supply without any type of switch. Does anyone know if the sensor will constantly draw a small amount of current after trolling motor is turned off eventually draining my battery?

After you pair the sensor you will see the red light blink periodically. After you turn the trolling motor off with the switch on the foot pedal the sensor will go to sleep and not draw power.

I always wondered the same thing but I noticed that in my driveway when I looked, it was not blinking.

I hooked mine into where my old fish finder was, so that it's controlled by the master power switch on the console.
