questions on Elite 5 ti Lowrance

I am thinking of using the Lowrance Elite 5 ti on the front of my boat. is the five-inch big enough for clarity? Also, i saw several websites with refurbished units at discounted prices. In your opinion are they worth the discount, do they last? i am torn between the Hook2 7 w/ triple shot and Elite 5 TI. I heard that the elite models you can wifi with a tablet. I took my i pad on the boat and attempted to use it but like some have said it was hard to see.

I had one, but held it up close to my face most of the time or recorded and examined at home later.

Mine wifi'd with my ipad fine.

Lowrance had a rebate going on these recently. I think $100 back.

I have an Elite 5 chirp mounted on the console that I’ll be replacing soon. It’d need a TM transducer for your needs though. It has the Navionics map chip in it. I’ll have no use for it as soon as my new ones are installed (hopefully later this month). If you’re interested hit me up - I’d be willing to part with it soon enough.

Also, Lowrance will be on-site next weekend at the Bass Pro - Grapevine both Saturday & Sunday - Feb 17 & 18.
