Turning off Transducer

How do I do it on a Helix 12 Chirp. Looking through the menus and can't find it. Does it have to be done in normal mode or can I do it in simulation? I'll keep looking..

Push the power button. A menu will pop up that will have sonar on it. There you will be able to turn sonar pinging on or off

Will that let me run it it normal mode minus the transducer without damaging anything. I need to use the unit to check a GPS speedometer on a boat and will be running it off a 1V plug temporarily/

Yes, when you turn Sonar OFF, the unit becomes a GPS/Chart Plotter.

You can also turn Sonar OFF in the Setup menu.

You can do that in Normal or Simulator.

Where in the setup? That's where I was looking for it..

It is called Sonar and is the item above CHIRP Configuration using the Advanced Mode.

If you have Normal mode turned on, it is above Demonstration.
