BLT on Lake Leon March 22 - FM 2214 ramp is good - 02/23/15 03:53 AM

Late registration begins at 5 am March 22 at the Leon dam ramp.

Currently the FM 2214 ramp is ok to launch. We put out fliers with Leon dam listed as the weigh in and registration site. We will still hold the registration and weigh in there. You may not be able to launch there unless we get more rain. It is only 5 minutes from the FM 2214 ramp.

See you at the lake,

We put our schedule out in October of last year. I wish the choices made were made differently.

We wish all who enter much success.

There is a "low water" ramp on the other side of the cove of the dam ramp. There is a small white sign on he side of the road that points you there. Great ramp but no beaching cause its all rock around it. If the weigh-in is at the dam, the best thing to do is launch at the low water ramp, then drive the truck/trailer to the dam and pick your partner up at the long dock that comes out. That's what I do every time.

Jaguar, thanks for letting everyone know about the other ramp! That should help with the congestion.

We're looking forward to seeing our West Texas friends!

No problem! Being in the McMurry University Bass Club, in Abilene, we go there quite a bit. The FM 2214 ramp is still good for big boats as well as the "low water." No launching of any boat size on dam ramp unless we get a lot of rain by then (ramp is out of the water). The lake is fishing tough, was there Saturday before this big cold spell. Warmest water in the afternoon was 56, now most likely back in the 40's. Only had 3 bites all day as well. Also, if anybody launches at the FM 2214 (Chock-a-block) ramp, DO NOT RUN THE BOAT LANE OUT. There are stumps right around the markers... Wait until you get around by the docks, you can run that part of the lane with no problem!

Good luck to all the guys fishing! Me and a couple friends may be there to watch the weigh in!

If yall need any more info just PM me, I'll help as much as I can.
