Eagle Mountain Lake @West Bay Marina

September 28, 2019

Registration and Livewell Checks begin at 5:00 am***

First Cast 7:00 am
Check in at weigh in table by 3:30 pm

$60 per boat (team or individual) 80% payout at the ramp.

Payout 1 in 6 places

$10 side pot for big bass (100% payout at ramp)

5 fish limit (14” minimum for largemouth, spotted, and smallmouth)
Fish will be measured mouth closed, tail pinched
Dead fish penalty: 0.2 (two-tenths) lb applies to stringer and big fish

Only 5 fish allowed in the livewell (No culling of dead fish)

Fish will be measured mouth closed, tail pinched

BASS CLUB OF FORT WORTH (BCFW) EAGLE MOUNTAIN OPEN

9/28/2019 FISHING RULES

1. All state and federal laws will be in effect.
2. All contestants shall conduct themselves in a civil and sportsmanlike manner at all times or face
disqualification. This includes drunk and disorderly conduct.
3. At no time during official competition hours are any alcoholic beverages or drugs, (other than
prescription) allowed in the boat or to be consumed on the water.
4. First Cast will be at 7:00 am and you must be checked in with the tournament director at the
weigh in by 3:30 pm.
5. All contestants must check in with the Tournament Director or Assistant Tournament Director
by the deadline in order to weigh fish caught in the tournament. Fish must not be brought to
weigh in line until the contestant has acquired a weigh in token or other designated device.
Check in table will open at 3:00 pm.
6. A contestant may not weigh in fish caught by someone else with the intention of taking credit
for such weight or will be subject to disqualification from the tournament.
7. Any contestant retaining fish at the beginning of the tournament will be subject to
disqualification from the tournament.
8. Tournament will be for Smallmouth, Kentucky (Spotted) and Largemouth Bass only. Fourteen
(14)” minimum length on all. . All fish shall be measured on the BCFW straight board with mouth
closed and tail pinched. When measuring for minimum length, if the fish touches any point on
the line, it is acceptable. Measurement decisions by the Tournament Director will be final. There
will be a board present for a self courtesy check. For each fish brought in that is below minimum
length, a one (1) pound penalty shall be deducted from the stringer weight and that fish will not
be weighed.
9. Only artificial lures may be used. No live bait will be permitted. No trolling. Only one (1) rod may
be used at any one (1) time. Other rigged rods may be in the boat for substitute purposes.
10. There will be a five (5) fish limit. Each boat must bring only five (5) fish to weigh in. Fish shall be
in weigh-in bags or containers with sufficient water to keep fish in good condition until they are
released. Failure to do so shall result in a one (1) pound penalty from total weight.
11. There will be no fishing within one-hundred (100) feet of an anchored or tied boat of another
contestant, unless approved by the anchored or tied party.
12. All ties will be determined by the largest fish of the stringer. Any further ties will be determined
by splitting the winnings with that and the next lower place.
13. Each contestant will receive a two-tenth (0.2) pound penalty off total stringer weight for each
dead fish weighed in at the tournament (under Tournament Directors discretion). The two-tenth
(0.2) pound penalty also applies to a dead “Big Bass”
14. Mandatory live release of fish.
15. All tournament contestants must wear life jackets any time the boat in which they are riding or
driving is on plane. A kill switch must be attached to the driver when the boat is on plane, unless
the boat is not equipped with a kill switch.

Just a reminder, anyone can fish this tournament(team or solo). You do not have to be a member to fish.

We are expecting 25+ boats, off limits period is you can not make a cast before 7 am on Sept 28 (1200 am to 6:59 am). Once you have completed registration at West Bay you can then go to your spot and wait for 7 am. Please keep note that each boat must be checked in at the check in table at weigh in before the clock strikes 3:30 pm in order to weigh your fish. We will be setting up at 5:00 am to start registration process. See everyone tomorrow, should be a good one. Feel free to call or text if you have questions my contact info is 817-919-9929.

Results? Was a struggle for us in a little JFF tournament we had. 12 won it, curious how that would’ve fared in this one

All joking aside great bass club and well run open, probably one of the most organized bass club opens I’ve seen you guys know what you’re doing.

Thank you to everyone who came out and participated. These results are just from my memory, but 3 payouts went to:

1st - Seagraves/ Clark : 22+ lbs
2nd - Moore/Lambert : 19+ lbs
3rd - Worley/Hollis: 18+ lbs

Big Bass - Joe Smith: 8+ lbs

Any clue on depth the fish are in? What type of baits they used? I'm not looking for specifics. Just a few clues?

May sound cliche but you can really catch them a bunch of
Different ways. Top 3 were doing 3 different things, just like always comes down to getting the big bites in the boat when they bite. Docks are still good, off shore is still good, flipping bite is good from
North to south
