Started fishing with these guys a couple years back. It's a great time and the only real option for an individual trail in the Fall. It continues into Spring when we all get busier, but you only have to fish 4-5 to qualify for championship at beginning of Summer. You can accomplish that this Fall and then fish the spring tournaments that you can make it out to.

Yes there is a co-angler chance, but in 10-15 tournaments I have pulled one co-angler, it was the director who had boat issues and we ended up having a blast that day and both weighed in solid bags. I feel this part keeps people away, but not only is it not a big deal but it seldom even happens. Unless your name is Rick and then you can about guarantee to draw a co-angler! Most co-anglers I have seen at one event is 3 total and there were over 20 boaters there.

Seriously though, in most trails above the local weekend warrior level a co-angler or at least someone in the boat is part of the equation. Might as well get used to it.

We all love to fish and the fall is a great time to do it. Give ABA a chance and see what you think. I did and have only missed one tournament since then.

This is the most convoluted and difficult to navigate website in all of fishing. Do you have a link to this specific division? I can't find it.

OK I found it. But it's not on the Americanbassanglers.com website as mentioned above. It's on another website called drawtrail.

So making sure I’m correct! Membership is good for cross division tournaments correct? Want to fish Amon Carter out of DFW and Wichita Falls divisions

Re: American Bass Anglers Division 54 DFW schedule - 08/31/18 06:08 PM

Yes sir that is correct. You can qualify for championships in each through one division as well. The Spring schedule isn't out for District 54 yet but it is for 112 and a lot of people fish both 54 and 112.

Re: American Bass Anglers Division 54 DFW schedule - 09/21/18 03:33 AM

Yes that’s a cancellation from April of this year. My clubs tournament was the same day and we didn’t cancel... I still talk about that day and about how that was one of the most miserable coldest days that I have ever had on the water!!!! Only in Texas do you have ice forming on the deck of your boat and 30 mph north winds in April;(!!!!

That was an old post from last spring. Wind this weekend is 5 to 10 mph no cancellation for this weekend.
