winter stripped bass?

Any of you catch stripped bass/hybrids in winter with your fly rod. I just picked up a 7 wt rod for my old 7/8 reel. I know that's light, but I'm up for the challenge. I fish fresh water and have easy access to dams. How do you go about strippers?
