Lower Mt. Fort - 08/27/19 07:40 PM

Has anyone been to the LMF in the pass 10 days, plan on going up there in the next day or two to try out our NEW Redington 4# 11'-6" Hydrogen Nymping Rod. Plan on doing some Euro Nymphing.

I thought about going a few weeks ago but decided it just wasn't worth it with how hot it is and didn't want to fight the crowds of kayakers and tubers. It should be less crowded not that school is back in session but I am going to wait until probably late September or October before I make a trip. Fishing will be slow right now but not totally unproductive.

Wow, 11’6” rod? I thought my Cortland MK2 11’ rod was long.
They upped the flow to 175 and the water temps in spillway is about 66degrees. A buddy caught some nice ones Sunday (he might chime in) and another buddy did pretty good today. Both are pretty dang good though

Let us know how it goes, might motivate me to get up there sooner. Really want to go catch some trout but don't have the time to commit to New Mexico or Colorado for some good fish.

I went this past weekend. There were a few people on the river during Weekend. I seen no one Thursday and Friday. They have stocked no fish in July or August. So it is really slow fishing

I miss the old river but with the crowds now there is much more area to fish. Trust me, there are plenty of fish in there it's just that the pellet heads are much easier for most to catch

Heading back up Thursday has anyone up there over the weekend. Had some good luck last time we were up there, not sure if we are going to take our Eure Nymphing equipment with us this time.
Like to see if we can get some dry flies action this time.
