Today on the Paluxy

Well...It was a great day on the Paluxy.



Hooked in to a couple of big bass that doubled over my 4wt glass but one spit the hook and another snapped my tippet. I did get this chunky little guy.


but the surprise of the day was this. My first on a fly.

I had one day about three weeks ago on my local creek where I took five channels on the fly one even came on a bluegill popper. I think the biggest catfish surprise came in Kentucky where I got about a 12 lb flathead on Otter Creek just outside of Ft. Knox. I was fishing for smallies with a 6 wt rod and #4 Autumn Splendor bugger. I thought I had the smallie of a lifetime on until I saw his beady little eyes.
That river your fishing sure looks good and has some healthy looking fish.

I have been targeting cats on my flyrod with shad and having a lot of fun with it.

Here was a surprise cat on the fly today. Took a #4 white/chartreuse/purple clouser.. It was a heck of fight
